Revd David Halliwell

CURATE

David was born and brought up in Wigan (but don't hold that against him)! It is these roots that have ensured David is genetically obsessed with all things pie-related.

David would describe himself as a true northerner, but he has lived in many locations throughout the UK.

After studying for a degree and postgraduate diploma in broadcasting and journalism in Cornwall, David began working for the BBC in the southwest.

Several years later, he relocated to London still with the BBC.

There followed a number of different management positions in several medium and large companies which gave David a wide range of skills and experiences.

His faith is rooted in his upbringing by his Mum and Grandma; both faithful Christians.

In London, David worshipped in a number of different churches, trying to find which felt like home.

It was at Holy Trinity Wigan where David began to lead worship and do some preaching.

David's time in London, and his theological studies at the Queen's Foundation in Birmingham have given him a heart for black theology, and a drive to see greater diversity in the church.

In his spare time (apart from pie eating) David is a novice at the piano, and is a self-confessed car bore!

David is usually accompanied by his guide dog Zodiac, who is a great hit with lots of the people at St Ann's.
